From the very beginning of the Catholic Church some 2000 years ago, Catholics have shared a common set of teachings and beliefs.
Fr. Chris Martin explains many of the Catholic beliefs in his course, "This is What We Believe."
A NOTE FROM FR. CHRIS MARTIN
I spent several of my priesthood years serving as the associate pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Cottleville, MO. It is a wonderful and vibrant Catholic community with just under 5000 families (18,000 registered parishioners). I acknowledge my bias from the start, but if you want to know what a thriving Catholic parish community looks like, you need to look no further (once again, I know for certain of other great parishes and faith communities, but c'mon, this is my home turf).
Archbishop Carlson has appointed me to take over the Office of Vocations for the Archdiocese of St. Louis, so I am leaving my full-time parish ministry to focus on helping encourage and foster calls to priesthood and religious life for our local church. I will be traveling to grade schools, high schools, colleges, and parishes and directing camps and retreats, all in an effort to tell young people to "be not afraid" if the Lord is calling them to drop their nets and follow Him.
So, I look forward to sharing with all of you some reflections, concerns, and the occasional random thought from the viewpoint of a young man who loves his Catholic faith, loves being a Catholic priest, and loves sharing both of those things with anyone who will listen.
